Improving Fuel Economy

Whether you drive one of the most fuel efficient cars on the road or a gas guzzler it is important that you know how to increase fuel economy with your car in order to save money at the gas pump and put this money into your pocket every month. Fuel efficient cars like hybrids can really help you at the gas tank but certain driving habits such as speeding can really have you spending more than you ought too and make improving fuel economy in other ways like buying gas treatment obsolete. One of the problems with many people who are driving now and that have been in recent years is that many of these people learned to drive in a time when the economy was not as bad as it is now and when the amount of gas the world had in its stores was assumed greater than it is today. This makes many driving habits questionable in today’s times and many put speeding under scrutiny as one of the best ways to make fuel efficient cars inefficient.

Speeding is a behavior that motorists exhibit all the time because they do not realize the dangers that this can pose not only to fuel economy but to the lives of themselves and others. When America was living in a time of prosperity in terms of economical progress then this behavior was not as scrutinized as mentioned before but since the 1990 invasion of Iraq on Kuwait the average gas price went up and has been steadily going up in intervals every since. In fact many Americans in the 90’s claimed that they would turn to fuel efficient cars and behaviors when the prices reached 1.50 cents a gallon but modern times has shown that this is not the case. There are still many SUV’s and speeders on the road today and this shows no sign of abating anytime soon.
