Efficient Driving and Saving Fuel

The fuel prices that rose as a trend in the whole world made people consider if they have efficient driving habits. All over the Internet there you can find efficient driving tips to improve fuel economy. Also, there are some other ways to save fuel and make your driving and your car more efficient for your needs.

First, you should remove the roof bars if you do not need them all the time when you use the car. It will improve the efficiency up to 2%. A system of roof bars, even unused, adds wind resistance on a car so the engine will work harder. Also, some roof bars system weight a lot, depending of the manufacturing materials when they are chosen by their resistance and so on. Reducing this weight, it will also reduce the fuel consumption and increase the aerodynamic shape of the car so the driving will be much easier and efficient.

Turning off the air conditioning will also improve the efficiency of the driving up to 8%. Air conditioning uses incredible amount of fuel and if you make sure it is off you will definitely save fuel when driving. Also, there are some cases when it is very hot for example, when it is a little more efficient to have the air conditioning on because of the very hot air. At high speed for example, if you have your windows open, the aerodynamics and the overall efficiency of the driving style will be affected by the wind currents that get into the car through the windows. So, in this case, the air conditioning will be a much better idea for efficient driving.

Overfilling the fuel tank may decrease the efficiency by 1%. Fuel is heavy and by filling the tank, the car will be heavier. For a more efficient driving it is best that you fill the fuel tank up to half or three quarters so the engine should not have to work more.
